The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) within the UKIM, is the largest and most prestigious faculty in the field of computer science and technologies in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, and among the largest faculties in that field in the region. FCSE teaching staff consists of 38 professors and 40 associates. These include many “best in field” personal, such as the most referenced scientist in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, the most influential professor in ICT industry in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, etc. As a result, only this year 750 students has enrolled at 8 different modules (majors) with more than 20 profiles (minors) in the first year of undergraduate studies. The total number of students enrolled at FCSE is more than 3000, of these 2600 undergraduate students, more than 400 master students and 100 PhD students. These figures make FCSE the largest technical faculty in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Those facts, with combination with HD video conferencing resources that are on FSCE disposal, ease intensive collaboration with foreign Universities and companies including possibility to invite different highly specialized lectures when needed.
FCSE has the largest super-computer in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Also, at FCSE there are a 12 computer labs with more than 200 work stations that are used for teaching. In addition to these laboratories at FCSE possess many varied research laboratories:
- Grid, Parallel and Distributed Processing Laboratory
- Advanced Web Technologies Laboratory
- System on Chip Design Laboratory
- Laboratory for Internet and Innovative Technologies
- Intelligent Robotics Laboratory
- Laboratory for Mobile and Pervasive Semantic Experience
